Chloramphenicol, cycloserine, thioisoniazine, hydrazine hydrochloride, immunosuppressive agents including adrenocortical hormone, cyclophosphamide, cyclosporine, isoniazid, penicillamine and other drugs can antagonize vitamin B6 or increase the renal excretion of vitamin B6, which can cause anemia or peripheral neuritis.

 

Levodopa combined with a small dose of vitamin B6 (5mg per day) antagonizes levodopa's anti-tremor effect. But it had no effect on cabidopa.

Vitamin B1 forms thiamine pyrophosphate inside body, it is the coenzyme necessary when carbohydrate metabolizes, can maintain the normal function of heart, nerve and digestive system. Vitamin B1 can inhibit the activity of cholinesterase, and when the lack of cholinesterase activity is enhanced, acetylcholine hydrolysis is accelerated, resulting in nerve impulse conduction disorder, affecting gastrointestinal and myocardial functions.

 

Vitamin B6 is converted into pyridoxal phosphate in red blood cells. As a coenzyme, it plays a role in various metabolic functions of proteins, carbohydrates and lipids. Vitamin B6 also participates in the conversion of tryptamine into niacin or 5-hydroxytryptamine.

 

Vitamin B12 is involved in methyl conversion and folate metabolism in the body, promoting the conversion of 5-methyl tetrahydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate. When lacking, it leads to a barrier to DNA synthesis that affects red blood cell maturation. The product also promotes the conversion of methylmalonic acid into succinic acid, which participates in the tricarboxylic acid cycle. This effect is related to the synthesis of nerve myelin lipids and the maintenance of the functional integrity of myelinated nerve fibers. Nerve damage caused by vitamin B12 deficiency may be related to this effect.
